DoorDash: online delivery service

DoorDash Incorporation: All you need to know

DoorDash Incorporation, established by Tony Xu in January 2013, operates an online food ordering and delivery platform based in San Francisco, California, United States. It is a technocentric company intent on moving meals from kitchens to a thousand and one stomachs across cities. It does this by empowering local businesses and, in return, generating new ways for people to earn, work and live.

DoorDash is currently available in over 850 cities across North America, and growing fast. It aims to satisfy your cravings and connect you with possibilities — more time and energy for yourself and those you love.

With a market share of 55%, DoorDash dominates the online food delivery market in the United States as of March 2021. Meanwhile Uber Eats held the second highest share with 22%, Grubhub with 17% postmates with 3% others with 1%.

It also has a 57% market share in the convenience delivery category. Uber eats following with 23%, Grubhub 16%, Postmates with 3%, others 1%. It has about 3,886 employees and created revenue of 2.886 billion USD (2020).

Asides its amazing customer service, DoorDash runs a unique value-added feature for its delivery drivers - a role it rather describes as 'Dashers' on its website. Like a ride-hailing service, DoorDash operates an open policy where anyone can be their own boss and enjoy the flexibility of choosing when, where, and how much they earn so long as they have a mode of transportation and a smartphone.

It explains on its website http://www.doordash.com/ how random individuals can register to be dashers and earn.

Over the years, DoorDash has partnered with Albertsons companies to launch unprecedented Access to On-Demand Grocery Delivery, partnered with Mastercard for World and World Elite Mastercard cardholders to access complimentary DashPass benefits, Celebrated Juneteenth: A Commitment to Black Communities, Dashers, Entrepreneurs, and Employees, Expanded to japan, Expanded Health, and Wellness Offerings Through Partnerships with LOLA and Hims & Hers, recently celebrated pride 2021 and a lot more to make sure people are satisfied with their service.

The company is interested in helping other people`s businesses by them becoming partner restaurants using the app. You can reach new customers, increase your sales and build brand awareness. 75% of restaurants agree that DoorDash has helped them reach new customers. 65% of restaurants say they were able to increase their profits during COVID-19 because of DoorDash. Getting game-changing marketing tools can improve your online presence and boost SEO. Also, get direct feedback to improve your customer experience and tailored recommendations to increase your sales.

Project DoorDash

(DoorDash Acts for Sustainability and Hunger). An initiative that started in 2018 focused on tackling hunger and food waste in the local communities served. Leveraging DoorDash’s passionate employees, last-mile logistics technology, and a network of millions of Consumers, hundreds of thousands of Dashers, and tens of thousands of Restaurant Partners across more than 600 cities, Project DASH consists of the following:
Donate one meal through the Feeding America® Charity for every order placed on DoorDash’s website, Android, or iOS app through January. To amplify this effort, DoorDash leveraged the company’s national merchant footprint and invited one Restaurant Partner each month to join in the "one-meal for one-meal" initiative in 2018, with plans to extend further in the future.

One in eight Americans face hunger, and this meal match ensured that Feeding America® help more families and individuals put food on their tables.
WeDash For Good: Since DoorDash launched seven years ago, employees have "dashed" each month to keep employees connected to the experience of Customers, Dashers, and Restaurant Partners.
Reducing Food Waste: DoorDash introduced a pilot program that pairs the company’s logistical expertise with Feeding America® Charity’s MealConnect system. MealConnect serves as a hub for food donations, linking surplus food with local nonprofits that can use it to feed those in need. DoorDash will use one of its core competencies — specifically DoorDash Drive, the enterprise-fulfilment arm of the business — to help bring surplus food to local food banks through the MealConnect system. The integration of DoorDash Drive with Feeding America® Charity’s MealConnect program brought together the nation’s platform for fulfilling on-demand delivery requests with the nation’s largest domestic hunger-relief organization.
Amongst its trusted investors are SEQUOIA, CRV, KPCB, Khosla Ventures, SVangel, Y. with Subsidiaries: Caviar, Chowbotics, Inc., Scotty Labs, Inc.
